Headaches, Migraines, and Chiropractic Care in Tempe AZ

One of the major problems we see in our Tempe Chiropractic office is the pain associated with headaches and migraines. What most doctors do not tell their patients is one of the major causes of these conditions stems from the neck. When the cervical vertebrae are out of place, which chiropractors call subluxations (pinched nerves), they can cause the nerves to become inflamed causing pressure and pain which can cause muscles to tighten up and produce headaches or migraines by sending these impulses back to the head and the neck.

What we find in our Tempe Chiropractic Office

Headaches and Migraines will continue to come back in spite of medication that your doctor may give you unless the cause of this problem is corrected. In our Tempe chiropractic office, we look for several causes of these problems in addition to locating vertebra which is misaligned. There are many other types of problems which can cause headaches or migraines, there are cranial bones, which may be jammed at the sutures where the bones attach, this like the plates of the earth the come together but sometimes move creating earthquakes. The same can happen in your skull The frontal, parietal, temporal bones etc can jam or move causing headaches and migraines.

We also look for a TMJ problem that can be a cause of your problem. The TMJ is where the mandible and the temporal bone meet. This area transmits information to the brain of what is going on in your body in real time and then the brain interprets what to do with this information. If the TMJ is slightly out of position it will delay or send wrong signals to the brain. The muscles of the neck also need to be examined to see if they are chronically tight they can pull causing tension on nerves that go into the skull causing headaches or migraines. These are some of the major causes and what we believe needs to be checked with any headache condition.
